Keith Haring
Flowers, 1990Silkscreen91.5 x 127 cm.
36 x 50 in.Editions 100Flowers is part of a portfolio of five silkscreen prints created by Keith Haring in 1990. Produced in the last year of Haring's life, shortly before his tragic death from AIDS-related complications, the print offers a vibrant and celebratory homage to a similar portfolio by his friend and fellow artist, Andy Warhol. The print features flowers depicted in an abstract, graffiti-inspired style. The paint appears to drip from the forms, and Haring’s use of colour is intentionally uneven and spontaneous. Flowers highlights Haring’s unique visual style that would see the artist become a mainstay of private collectors, auction houses, galleries and museums worldwide.
