In Untitled (9736), Robert Marc presents a composition that is at once structured and enigmatic, showcasing his mature command of abstract visual language. Unlike more overtly rhythmic pieces in his oeuvre, this print feels quieter, more introspective - an arrangement of forms that seems to pause between motion and resolution. Here, Marc layers curved and angular shapes with subtle tension, creating intersections that hint at depth without resolving into three-dimensional space. The palette - muted yet rich - leans into warm neutrals, soft greys, and occasional contrasting tones that provide visual anchor points amid the complex interplay of form. Each element feels carefully placed, yet the overall impression is one of spontaneous harmony. While the work draws on the visual logic of Cubism, Untitled (9736) resists rigid categorization. Instead, it explores the emotional potential of abstraction: the way shapes and colours can suggest memory, silence, or the passage of time without relying on imagery. There is a meditative quality here - an invitation to look slowly, to consider not just what is shown, but how space and form can evoke feeling. Marc’s Untitled (9736) stands as a subtle yet powerful example of his ability to transform geometric abstraction into a deeply personal and poetic language, offering a contemplative moment within the visual intensity of his broader body of work.
